I know you guys are probably sick of LB photos, but I have so many.... I can't help sharing!
This first one is my BEST SHOT MONDAY! Go to Picture This to see more of everyone's favorite shots!
Aren't they adorable? It's pretty funny, but we were trying to do a family self-shot here...you know, the kind where we're holding the camera out in front of us hoping to fit everyone in...well guess who got left out???? ME!! Once again, the photographer isn't in any photos! I say this because of the next photo. I asked my sister, Carly, to please take a quick shot of me on the beach... this is what she got! I was like "Carly, what the heck happened! Were you trying to cut me out of the shot or what?!?!" She said she was just trying to get more of the background in... totally cracked me up!!!!!!!!! Thanks sister!
See what I mean!! The next one is the sweet photo I took of her on the beach-somehow, one of us got jipped!
and a great shot of my parents....
my handsome dad at the wedding...
Little Wes resting at the beach...
5 minutes earlier...
We call him "chubby bubby" for good reason!
Here's the path we had to hike each day to get to the beach...
My mom snapped this one - thanks Mom!
The WEDDING...
Now, remember, I only snapped a few cause I was not the wedding photographer! I actually got to sit and enjoy the whole wedding and barely brought out my camera. Both my boys were super cranky and tired during the festivities, but, I was able to snap just a few photos here and there.
once again, snapped by my mom...
These are the sisters of the bride and two of my favorite gals in the whole wide world! Laynie (on the left) is pregnant and due in December with a little girl. She is Barrett's mommy, whom you've already met in a previous post. Callie (on the right) lives in Colorado and we don't get to see her very much. I was so blessed to get to spend some time with her during our wedding weekend! I love you girls!
Little "Bear - Bear" rode in like a king! Can you believe that set-up!! HA! It was hysterical!
By the way, Bailey really is that tan!!! I totally loved this dress, which I think someone told me was Vera Wang. She looks absolutely stunning!
Alright, that'll be the last post of wedding related stuff! But, I do have some great shots of Laynie Lou and baby Barrett at the pool, which I plan to share later! Hope everyone has a great Monday!!
I have to say, this was the best rehearsal dinner I've ever been to. First they loaded us onto two huge buses (you know, the nice ones, better than our airplane seats!) and drove us to a place called, Savannah Steak and Chop House. As we all piled out, we noticed we would be having dinner outside on this really great patio with a totally cool view. The waiters immediately began lighting those tall propane heaters, which made it feel like we were all around a big campfire - I LOVED IT!! Of course, it helped that my food was delicious, and the company was good too!
waiting on the buses...
This is my hubby, Josh, and my sister, Carly... aren't they both georgous! I just happened to look over as he was picking on her - told him to stop long enough for a shot... I'm pretty sure he went back to torturing her afterwards.
This one is hilarious! The first bus had just filled and the driver was hollering saying they could fit "two more people" - we figured the momma and daddy of the bride should get to go with the first group, right... well apparently, after they jumped on quick, the driver realized there wasn't two more seats. She booted them right back off the bus! My Aunt Di is a total hoot as you can tell by the photo. She was having a great time with all the hullabaloo!
I have a bunch of photos from the dinner, but I wasn't nearly as happy with them as I'd hoped. It was a georgeous outdoor location, but for a photographer, it was tough. The patio had a glass wall all the way around which wasn't great about letting you use a flash (it would always give you some sort of reflection) which I really needed to do since I was shooting directly into the sun. It was also a very crowded dinner, which meant I was shooting around all the heater poles and servers You'll see what I mean when you look at these next photos.
so, here are a few from the dinner itself...
The groom and his momma. Aren't they a good-lookin duo... I totally fell in love with both of them and was so proud for Bailey.
Okay this one needs a little set-up so people don't think I'm totally crazy! Bailey(bride) is a total people pleaser - she wants to make sure everyone is taken care of and has everything they need. So, when I cought her in this picture, it was SO funny... bless her heart - she was probably starving!! What a busy couple of days!!
father of the bride
mother of the bride
check out the way she's lookin' at him in this one
These next photos are strictly family fun while in LB this past weekend. Luckily, while being there for Bailey's wedding we were able to enjoy the beautiful weather and totally awesome beach! I'm telling you, this is a place I could live year round! During the day, it was around 75-80 degrees, but as soon as evening started to roll around, you'd need a jacket. In fact, most of the outdoor restaurants provided blankets for the dinner guests. I guess they're used to us goofballs coming to visit and not knowing how to pack!! I don't think I broke a sweat the entire weekend! It was AWESOME!!!
He's laughing/screaming cause there were some MASSIVE waves crashing onto the beach... just check out these two little boogie boarders...
that was actually an airport shot during our layover on the way to Orange County...but he looks so stinkin' cute in his camo shorts and tractor shirt. Josh said somethin' like "Watch out Orange County - the Gurney's are comin'!" I don't think Laguna Beach locals were quite ready for us Okies just yet... we didn't quite fit in wearing our camo and flip flops. :) In fact, the first night we were there, Kelly Clarkson was hangin' out by the pool. I never talked to her but everyone said she was super nice! She's from Texas though, so she probably owned a little camo at some point in time, right?!?!? I hear camo is fashionable these days! All right, until the next in the series, ta ta for now...
Obviously, there are many Laguna Beach posts coming... can you tell by my title?? I'm starting with a women's luncheon for Bailey (my cousin and the bride). We had a great time staying at the Montage in LB. Bailey's family took good care of all the guests and we completely enjoyed getting to see Bailey have such fun preparing for her wedding. We all arrived on Friday - the wedding took place on Sunday night. So, there were a few days leading up to the big event where we were all able to relax and enjoy the Bride and Groom's company...
So, Aunt Di, here's a sneak peek for you...
The BRIDE...
And the rest of the crew...
This next photo is the bride's momma (my Aunt Diane) and her grandmother (Meme) reading the absolute sweetest poem I think I've ever heard. It brought tears to nearly everyone in the room, including the bride.
I'm back in town!! YEAH!! What is it about vacations (although this wasn't really a vacation) that make you want to come back home? We're SO glad to be back in our tiny, little home - in our own beds, with our own dust! We had a great time in Laguna Beach at my cousin's totally cool wedding, but we're SO happy to be back home!
With that being said, I promise to have lots of pics coming soon! I haven't even uploaded yet, so be patient!!! Laundry must come first - otherwise I could be blogging naked, and nobody, I mean nobody, wants that!
See you soon!!!
It's super late, but I'm trying to get a quick post out before leaving tomorrow. My family and I are heading to Laguna Beach, California for my cousin's wedding. I'll be taking a ton of photos to share with you when I get back. We're staying at The Montage. Go check out their site - it looks SO cool... I can't wait to get there - of course, that's if we survive airport security with both kiddos in tow!!! The beach has got to be my favorite type of vacation - although I love spending summers in Colorado. At any rate, I'll be back late Monday night...so you probably won't hear from me until at least Tuesday. Happy weekend to you all!
Now, down to business!! A few days ago, I asked you to name a photo... didn't get nearly as much participation as I'd hoped, but I did get some cute titles. So, without further ado, THE WINNER IS::: "Wanna hit the shoe store?" Thanks for submitting a comment, TaunaLen. If you'll email me your address, I'll either send you a Super Target gift card for $20 or a coupon for 50 percent off a photo session! YOU GET TO PICK!! Be sure to let me know which one you choose!
Alrighty, I've got a bone to pick with all you readers out there!! It seems that I've got quite a group of lurkers/readers who visit quite frequently, but never say hello! You know, if you have a typepad account (and a sitemeter) you can see the amount of readers and location for all of you.
I've had a ton of hits just this week!!
You are allowed to say hello and comment once in a while...
In fact, I'd welcome the adult conversation...
Remember, I'm home all day with two rugrats. Proofing photos and reading other blogs is pretty much all the outside entertainment I get.
That being said, have a great Wednesday! I expect a rush of comments at any moment!!
This little guy is the son of my cousin. These pictures are from May, but I'm just getting a chance to upload them. He's SO stinkin' cute that I couldn't resist sharing him with you. My cousin now has a little gal on the way - she's due in December... I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Here's one of Bear with his momma...aren't they adorable...boys sure do love their mammas
and one of his daddy playing with the family pooch, Ruthie...
poor little fella dropped his football... somebody get it....
This last photo is of another cousin (sister to the first) who just happens to be getting married this weekend in Laguna Beach, CA. We're all really excited and happy to be celebrating her special day with her. See you there!!
Alrighty, here's my BSM, but most importantly -
THIS PHOTO NEEDS A NAME!!
If you've got a great name for this first photo, please leave it in the comments!
This is my pal Ciera who just turned "1" and I was priveledged enough to be invited to the party (well, me and Ty, of course!). The first photo is the BSM, check out other BSM's over at Picture This.
I realize these photos are not technically very good (lighting and all that jazz not the greatest for photo taking), but she is a cutie isn't she?!?!?
