Darian - 9 months

I promised I'd be back and here I am!  I bet Darian's momma is about to pass out from holding her breath.  In fact, I'm smiling at the thought of her about to pass out from lack of oxygen!  HA!  Just kidding, Ashley!

So, baby "D" is a funny little guy who is always wearing a big grin OR a serious, inquisitive "What is she doing?" look.  For this session, though, he was grinning from ear to ear in nearly every shot!

Of course, it helps that both his parents are full of laughter, too!

I swear they had me laughing so much I was having to do cheek exercises to get rid of the aches!  No kidding!

We had a TON of fun, as usual.  AND were able to get a million cool shots out of this little guy!  He's growing so much and each time I see him, he's got more personality!  I can't wait to see him in another 3 months!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
This next one was Ashley's idea.  She even brought the mirror!  She had a similar photo taken of her when she was a baby, which she brought to show me.  I love that each time I see them, she's got a whole lists of shots she's prepared in her mind!  I've even told her several times she should be my assistant - Ashley you ROCK!

The neat thing about this shot is how we took it!  You could do this at home.  Just get a mirror, go outside, have someone hold up a black blanket behind your subject and snap a few shots!  You'll be amazed at what you can get!

and I have to end with another super cute bath shot!  I love these!

Really BIG Tease!

Either his momma is gonna love me or hate me after this post!  I only had a few seconds to proof this today due to all my other errands.  But, I knew she was watching like a crazy woman for his sneak peek.  So, this is ALL you get for now.  BUT, I promise to have the rest up tonight sometime!  Keep watching your in-box for the link, Ashley!

Braylin - 1 year

As promised, here are some really GREAT shots (that don't involve too much cake) of my little friend, Braylin!
 
 
 
We (Braylin's momma and I) went back and forth about doing these at her house or outside at a local park...I persuaded her to go for the park and HOPE for good weather.  I'm so glad it all worked out to our advantage!  Braylin is stunning in nearly every shot - EVEN the cake ones!
 
 
 

Braylin has just started walking and as you can tell, we all had great fun watching her.
 

I'd say her momma is especially smitten with her...who wouldn't be though.  Take a look at those blue eyes!

Imperfect Prelude

Hi there!

This post is to help prove a point and to tease this little gal's family just a tiny bit.  I promised them a sneak peek on Monday, but couldn't wait to post these!  They'll have to wait until tomorrow for all the 'NORMAL' photos.  BOO!

This is Braylin.  She's turning 1 year old in a short while and it just wouldn't be fair to have her 1 year pics taken without a little bit of CAKE involved.  However, with cake comes a LOT of clean up, which is not very much fun...not very much fun AT ALL.

In fact, it's really frustrating when the sun is setting and it's becoming more than a little chilly and mom decides you need a MAJOR wipe-down...

It's just not cool!

Just ask Braylin...

There rest of you are probably wondering what POINT, exactly, I was referring to in the beginning of this post...

The point is you don't need PERFECT pictures to capture some great memories! 

These photos are absolutely hilarious - AND none of them are "in-focus".  In fact, the fact they're out of focus makes them all the more awesome to me.  Just take a look for yourself.  She's frustrated, moving every which direction and trying to escape clean-up - it was impossible to get a PERFECT shot, but because they're imperfect...

They ARE perfect!

Baby Kale

Meet baby Kale.

He's brand new at just under 2 weeks old, but he's no small miracle.  He is absolutely adorable in every way.

We tried and tried to keep him asleep, but he was having no part of it.  He was WAY too interested in seeing what the rest of us were up to...
 

I don't know about you guys, but I have baby fever already....although I think we've established I've had baby fever for a while now.  Little Kale sure didn't do anything to diminish it.

AND, by the way, is his momma gorgeous or what!

 
 

I could've hung out with these guys all day long (and almost did), but they made me go home...something about a doctor's appointment for the little guy.

That's okay.  I got my baby fix...for this week anyway.
 
 
 
 

Cooper - 1 year

 

I've been really lucky to photograph Cooper three times now, which is totally cool.  It's so neat to see how much he's grown each time I see him.  This time is no different, of course.  I arrived at his home to find that he's walking around like a champ!  AWESOME! 

Just this past November, he was crawling like a maniac and pulling up on everything.  Now, he's going full speed!
 

The funniest part about our session this time was that Cooper absolutely DID NOT want the crunchy January grass touching his feet!  It was hilarious!  His momma and I got a huge giggle from the way he reacted when we stuck him out in their front yard.  He wanted to be there, but DID NOT want to be barefoot!  He literally would sit with his legs up a few inches in the air.  AND, get this, when he wanted to be closer to us, he would crawl in reverse thinking his toes wouldn't touch the grass that way.  I'm telling you it was hysterical!  Don't worry, though, after a while he got used to it and was even willing to walk around.
 
 
 
 
 
 

A new favorite...

Moving on...

This photo has become one of my new favorites.  There is something to be said about the relationship that forms between a little girl and her daddy.  It's something special.  Somehow I think it softens dad up a bit...look, you can see...it's starting already.

Kinsley Grace

So, yea, I'm supposed to be on vacation... right?  Oh, whatever...

You know I can't go THAT long without taking some photos!  It's just not possible.  So, I added a session or two during my "vacation" time.  Don't judge me.

Meet the adorable Kinsley Grace at just 9 weeks old...

I mean, really.  Who could pass her up for vacation time?  Not me.
 

From what I hear, she's quite a daddy's girl...
 

We were talking about how everything changes when you have your first baby.  Life becomes something different all together.  It's like everything you've done up to that point doesn't matter.  It was simply preparing you for this...for HER...

AND then, I caught this look between them.  I think it's my favorite shot from the day...mostly because of the meaning behind it.

Jacob - 1 year

WOW!  This little guy was the cutest thing ever!  He literally would not quit smiling.  In fact, I'm not sure (except for the cold) I've had an easier session.  It was so much fun!

Jacob and I were scheduled to meet this past Friday afternoon, but he had a little ear trouble and had to make a trip to the doctor...AND on his birthday weekend, too!  Poor little guy.  Luckily, he was my lest session of the season and I didn't mind moving his session back a day.  I think it worked out perfectly!  Jacob had a day to rest and we were able to enjoy the last decent day for a while.  It was horribly windy, but still warm enough that our teeth weren't chattering like my last few sessions.

I know Jacob's momma and daddy are waiting anxiously for this sneak peek.  So, I won't keep them waiting any longer.  Here are my favorites!

This first one is kinda funny because he wasn't about to leave his momma's side when we first started.  But, by the end of our session he was chasing me around!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

AND, lastly, he got to enjoy a little left-over birthday cake from his party earlier in the day.

I thought it was so funny that his momma and I were like "2 second rule, go ahead and eat it", but daddy was totally grabbing it up before he could get all germy!  Hilarious!  Shouldn't it be the other way around?  It usually is at our house...
