Behind the Scenes

I'm BACK IN TOWN...don't tell anyone, though.  I'm pooped.  Can I just sleep all day?  Do you think that would be okay?

No, seriously, I'm hard at work already trying to proof a ton of senior sessions.  If you are a senior waiting on a session, not to worry, your online gallery should be up today or tomorrow!  YIPPEE!

Okay, enough whining from me.  I have too much work to do and being gone all weekend has held me up a bit.  So, today, you get a little behind the scenes action which is the fastest post I could come up with.

Here is a shot of Jessica's senior session with her mom holding a BIG reflector so I could get a super cool shot for her.
 
And, here's the actual shot...

Pretty cool, huh.  I did some funky processing on it for coolness effect, but you can see how the shot started.  Neat!  I had her mom working hard that day since DeLisa couldn't be there.

That last one cracks me up because she's so serious reviewing her shots, but if you look closely she has bubbles around her neck from helping me.  Funny, isn't it!  It's amazing what things we'll go through to get a good smile!

Goldfish...by DeLisa

DeLisa snapped this one while I was snapping photos of the parents.  She was on-location with me for some mini-sessions and I was so grateful since she kept the kids totally entertained.

I think I like the color version best because you can really see the goldfish.  What do you guys think?

A Little Flare...by DeLisa

It's Friday.  I'm really tired and have a ton of proofing to do, which is why I'm so late blogging today.  I couldn't just leave you guys hanging right before the weekend, though. 

So, as promised earlier...I'm sharing a little work of my favorite new assistant, DeLisa.  She's doing such a fantastic job!  AND, in the meantime, she's still working her normal 8-5 job!  Some days I don't know how she does it!  I can think of a couple of sessions lately where I know she didn't make it home until nearly 10pm after working a full day at her "other" job.

Hang in there, girl!  You're doing awesome!

I just had to share this shot with you guys...

Recently, I acquired an assistant/intern of sorts in my photography business.  She doesn't get paid anything.  What she does get is to tag along to sessions with me, take some shots of her own, get FREE advise from me (like I'm an expert or something), and keep all of the shots she takes to add to her portfolio for later.  Not such a bad trade off, right?  I mean who wouldn't want EXPERT advise from me?

I absolutely LOVE having her around and I've been really impressed by a lot of the shots she's getting.  So, I've decided (if it's okay with her, of course) to post some of her work here as we go along in the craziest Fall season ever!

This will be the first!  I'll try to post some each week and who knows, before it's all said and done, she may have a little biz of her own!  Go, DeLisa!
